The Team Formula kick off a new author-led Business Book Club
The idea behind the Book Club is to take what used to be a regular business leader network and make it into something new, something fresh, something different. The idea is to discuss business/leadership issues and opportunities within the framework of a particular business book in a discussion led by the author of the book.
Senior leaders from the public and private sector met in central London on Tuesday to participate in the very first meeting. The Club had decided that they wanted The Team Formula to be the first book to be explored, as they really liked the unusual format of the book.
We had some great discussions where the participants probed us on how to make full use of the contents of the book as well as sharing their own experiences of teams and leadership. Interesting and rewarding for all of us.
It was a very successful launch and we were delighted to be able to contribute to this novel idea, and wish the Club continued enjoyment as they continue to include more subjects and books into their upcoming meetings.
This is what the initiator of the Book Club wrote on Amazon following the kick-off:
The ‘Team Formula’ is a very readable book that quickly introduces the reader to the principles of team working. The story telling approach makes it easier to understand the management techniques described, such as: creating trust, managing change, communication in teams, information sharing, effective leadership, team dynamics, etc. It is a useful book for managers with no experience of change and as an aide-memoire for more experienced managers.
The book was successfully used to launch the CSNet Book Discussion Group, at which the authors Mandy Flint and Elisabet Hearn were present.
Thanks for reading
