What impact are you choosing to have on people and the world around you?

Everyone is a leader , leadership is the act of influencing others.

Elisabet Vinberg Hearn and I were delighted to speak about this at the Annual Institute for Supply Management conference in Houston, Texas on 10th April.

You always have an impact on people and the world around you, whether you pay attention to it or not. Things move fast, we’re all surrounded by constant change. Leaders need to create impact in the moment, to not lose the power of that moment. In the year 2020 and beyond, our ability to have a good or even great impact will become more and more important.

”How” we operate rather than simply ”what” we do is increasingly critical to success. In fact, it is fast becoming the differentiating factor for successful executives, leaders and organizations overall. The key to EFFECTIVE impact is therefore to be intentional about it, to decide” this is the impact I want and choose to have”.

By being intentional you can create more sustainable results, because managing and creating impact is not a “nice to have”, it’s a business necessity. Everyone can have good or even great impact, if they make that conscious choice.

This talk coincided with the release of our 3rd book “The Leaders Guide To Impact” by Financial Times Publishing which is out now.
